Now, it was time for the main event of the day, Carnival Jubilee’s naming ceremony. We were lucky enough to have reserved seats in the main theater for all the Texas-sized fun. In fact, this was the first cruise ship naming ceremony to ever take place in Galveston! From a lassoing cowboy, to Galveston’s mayor officially naming February 24th as “Carnival Jubilee Day”, the event culminated with the traditional champagne bottle breaking on the ship’s bow.

With addictive crispy chicken sandwiches and tenders, now we know why. The Cruise Director Lee and the rest of the Fun Squad did a fabulous job keeping the energy up all cruise. Lee was an excellent host for game shows like Family Feud and Love and Marriage. He was very visible throughout the ship and always willing to say hello or take a selfie. Food was served at the appropriate temperatures, and each course was well paced, with most meals taking about minutes. This gave us plenty of time to enjoy the evening entertainment around the ship.

There are some treasured favourites and newer ships that are still really good but don’t quite have the same magic. They are thieves and do not care for there repeat customers. For this Carnival Celebration review, the food quality did not live up to our expectations. Until then, Carnival Celebration will continue to struggle to provide the kind of personable, upbeat and cheery service present on the rest of the line’s fleet. Don’t expect terribly cerebral diversions; Carnival is all about FUN, and it does a commendable job of shouting it from the rooftops. Expect thudding poolside music, raucous games and a healthy dose of irreverence in everything the line does. Named after the line’s original Celebration of 1987, Carnival Celebration pays homage to Carnival’s past while also continuing to add new and exciting features that are sure to please guests of all ages.
Carnival Horizon passengers tend to be a fun-loving group hailing from all over the world -- but especially the United States. The ship's multiple cabin options and myriad activities appeal to families, and you'll see all kinds of kids onboard especially during the summer and over the holidays. Maybe we were partial to the music, but we did enjoy this party more than the White Party earlier in the week. Even though it was a port day, tonight was the second elegant night of the cruise.
